No swimming in Hope Mills Lake… yet.

The weather is getting warm and you might be thinking, hey, let’s go jump in the lake.  Well, if you’re in Hope Mills, don’t jump in the lake yet.

Officials are working on establishing procedures to test the water quality.  And until those are in place, the lake is closed to swimming.

Of course, you have probably been waiting since 2010 to go swimming, but town officials just want to keep everyone safe.

They expect it to take less than a month to put procedures in place.
