"Glee's" 500th Song, "Shout," Will Raise Money for Charity
8:37AM Thursday
March 7, 2013

Glee is gearing up for a major milestone: its 500th song.  It's a version of the Isley Brothers' classic "Shout," as heard in the comedy classic Animal House, and you'll be able to see it this Thursday, March 7.  What's more, all proceeds from the song will go to a good cause.

Starting March 5 through the end of the season, 100 percent of the net proceeds from downloads of "Shout" will be donated to the Give a Note Foundation, which expands and increases music education opportunities for all children.  Glee's previous collaboration with that charity resulted in a $1 million donation to 73 schools nationwide.

"Shout" is just one of the many movie-themed songs you'll hear in Thursday's episode of Glee, which is called "Girls (and Boys) on Film."  In the episode, the Glee club members are assigned to perform their favorite movie songs, and the numbers include "Footloose," "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge, "Unchained Melody" from Ghost, a mashup of "Old Time Rock & Roll" from Risky Business and "Danger Zone" from Top Gun, and "In Your Eyes" from Say Anything.

You can hear "Shout" now, streaming at Entertainment Weekly's website.
