How do we know that dance music is one of the dominant forms of music today? Because nearly every major chart-topping artist of the last year has received at least a nomination or two at the International Dance Music Awards, scheduled for March 21 in Miami Beach.
Madonna, the queen of the dance floor, is unsurprisingly well-represented at the awards with three nods, including Best Pop Dance Track and Video for "Girl Gone Wild" and Best Solo Artist. But you may be surprised to hear that Gotye, fun., Carly Rae Jepsen, Katy Perry, Alicia Keys and One Direction have also received nominations.

In addition to Madonna, nominees for Best Solo Artist include Rihanna and Calvin Harris, while Best Group Artist nominees include Florence + the Machine and Swedish House Mafia.
