On Wednesday (May 21), during the first night in Los Angeles on her co-headlining Grand National stadium tour with Kendrick Lamar, SZA surprised the audience by bringing out Lizzo for a special performance of “Special.” The duo previously collaborated on the remix of the title track of Lizzo’s Grammy-nominated 2022 album, Special, and the besties took the SoFi Stadium stage together in matching black outfits to deliver a powerful rendition of the track together. Lizzo later shared a video of the performance on Instagram, excitedly captioning the post, “BABYS FIRST STADIUM PERFORMANCE— I love u @sza u r THEE DIVA!” SZA and Lamar continue their Grand National Tour with two more L.A. shows on May 23-24, with the duo currently riding a record-setting 13-week streak atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their hit single, “Luther.” Lizzo, meanwhile, is prepping the release of her upcoming fifth album, Love in Real Life, and recently performed on Saturday Night Live on April 12.
