Nick Jonas has been cast to play Paul Stanley in the long-anticipated KISS biopic, Shout It Out Loud. In an unexpected casting, Jonas will put on the iconic Starchild makeup, play the guitar, and lend his own vocals to KISS classics in the authorized film co-produced by Stanley and Gene Simmons. The biopic is set to depict the first four years of KISS, and will be directed by McG. While the role of Simmons is yet to be filled, a screenplay draft by Darren Lemke is already finished. Despite his substantial departure from KISS’ musical style, Jonas’ diverse acting career includes roles in Disney films, Broadway performances, and multiple Hollywood movies, including a co-starring role in the upcoming Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon rom-com, You’re Cordially Invited. In addition to his acting responsibilities, Nick and his siblings are set to kick off the Jonas Brothers’ 20th anniversary Living the Dream Tour on August 10 in their native New Jersey.
